The purpose of the request is for project planning for the <br />replacement on an existing rock and timber stream diversion, The new <br />diversion will be a stone/masonry gravity wall about 12 feet high and 20 feet <br />long. The project is located in the Ouray Quadrangl e. T. 44 N.. R. 7 W. . Vol. <br />62. No. 182. September 19. 1997). While these species presently have no legal <br />protection under the Endangered Species Act. it is within the spirit of the <br />Act to consider project impacts to potentially sensitive candidate species. <br />
