Estimated Project Costs
For Repair of Buckeye Dam
Based on Assumptions and Suppositions Previously Discussed

Estimated Estimated
Item Description Quantity Unit Unit Cost Total Cost
1- Excavation of material to ob-
tain proper compaction on
eroded slopes 4,614 C.Y. $ 2.00 $ 9,228"00
2. With recent developments in the Colorado Legislature it is doubtful
that long term money would be availaole for the project at a 3% interest rate.
A 5% loan for a 40 year term from the Farmers Home Administration would be more
realistic, a Farmers Home Administra.ion loan at 5% amortized,over 40 years
would require an annual repayment of $8,462.10.

Based on the above conservative assu~ptions and suppositions the benefit to cost
ratio would be 1.44 to 1 with a 40 year loan at a 3% interest rate or 1.90 to 1
with a 40 year loan at a 5% interest rate.

Alternate or Additional Possibilities

The project measures in this report appear to be the best possible within the
existing limitations. Other alternatives were investigated, and are discussed
in Chapter IX, but were not acceptable due to economic, local desires, or the

VIII-5
