The quantities have been developed by the
farmers in the Paradox Valley over a period of years and are reliabie. The Par-
adox Valley Canal and Reservoir Company historically has experienced a 5% shrink
in transportation of irrigation water from the Buckeye Reservoir to the irrigated
lands in the valley, therefore; for each one (1) cfs the head of any field of,
any field to be irrigated, 1.05 cfs of water must be measured in the Parshall
measuring flume just below the Buckeye Reservoir.

Surface Water Supply

.

The records of water flows as kept by the water commissioner in the Paradox Valley
for the last ten years show that there is an average of 3,981 Acre feet per year
available to the Paradox Valley Canal and Reservoir Company for irrigation pur-
poses. The ten year average shows that 35.59% of the water is available from
the Buckeye Reservoir and the balance, 64.14%, available from direct flow. Table
VIII gives a summary of the water on an annual basis available for irrigation pur-
poses as determined from the records as kept by the water commissioner.

IV-2
