The implementation of any demonstration project is
not part of the Study effort.
Task 4: Conjunctive Use That Requires Importation Of Water From Beyond The South
P[atte llrainage Basin And That Potentia(ly Increases Colorado River Depletions - a
feasibility study of conjunctive use alternatives using surface waler sources from existing
facilities of Denver Water throughout its collection system. ,
Conjunctive use options using surface water sources from all existing Denver Water facilities
(on either side of the Continenta( Divide) will be analyzed as a component of a long term
water supply strategy for DCWRA Study Group members' use. The Management Team wi(L
direct the timing and integration of this approach prior to any work by the consultant. The
consultant will assume that all reasonable conservation and non-potable reuse programs are in
place and operational and the most efficient groundwater management option, as agreed to by
the Management Team in Task 3, is in place and operating. It is assumed that the identified
South Platte supplies for conjunctive use purposes are available. Based upon these
assumptions, the consultant will conduct a feasibility analysis of these components, including
the following items:
the monetary, regulatory, and environmental costs including costs to mitigate impacts to the
Colorado River Basin;
the regulatory, environmental, and issues for a conjunctive use component that
potentially increases depletions of Colorado River water; and
integration of project components or additional project features that could be utilized to meet
West Slope needs or provide West Slope benefits as identified through the UPCO study
process.
Task S: Final Report - a f:nal report describrng the study process and rts frndings
The consultant wili prepaze a draft report describing the study process, assumptions,
methodologies, altematives considered, analyses, and findings. Only after the Management
Team comments and approves any modifications to the draft report will the consultant issue a
Snal report.
Recommendations on future courses of action aze the responsibility of the Management Team.
G:\125]01lScope of WoAFinal.EOc
