Other Water Projects
Other major municipal and agricultural water supply and storage projects
exist in the Colorado River Basin. They are administered by various
water conservancy districts as well as government agencies. Most pro-
jects include storage reservoirs, and in some cases water is available
for contract or assignment. These projects include Green Mountain
Reservoir, Reudi Reservoir, Iron Mountain Reservoir (not constructed),
Homestake Reservoir, and others.

Other than the Denver Water Board Project, previously discussed, few of
these other systems are located where they would likely affect, physically
or legally, diversions made in the Blue River Basin. However, as an
alternative to building reservoirs for legal augmentation purposes in
the area, the District should consider the purch?se of water in some of
these other projects for this purpose. It is of interest to note that
the storage decrees for both the Iron Mountain and Green Mountain
reservoirs are senior to those of the Denver Water Board's Eagle/Piney
Project.

D. EXISTING WATER RIGHTS

Table 111-1 outlines the existing water rights owned by the Blue River
Water District. Case Number 79CW57 is currently before the Water Court
District Number 5 in Glenwood Springs. The existing right of 50 gpm
serving the Warrior's Mark area is reaching the maximum limit of use.

111-8
