The Reservoir thus serves to improve the quality of the water in the Cache La Poudre River. The Fossil Creek Reservoir is also on the natural drainage way of Fossil Creek, a small natural creek and natural drainage way and impounds storm runoff from this creek. North Poudre has made the use of any surface rights available to a hunting club and to a boating club. a. Project map, A Plat of Fossil Creek Reservoir is included on page A - 3 of Appendix "A". This plat shows the location of the reservoir, the inlet and outlet ditches in relation to the river and reservoir, olus the route of the natural stream, Fossil Creek. - On page A-13 of Appendix "A", is a map of the North Poudre Service Area showing lands irrigated. Climate. Average monthly temperatures and precipitation for Substation No. 53005, Division 4, in Fort Collins, Colorado, is shown by the following tables, The maximum temperature during the observation period was 1020F, and the minimum temperature was -41oF. The frost-free period at one Fort Collins observation station ranged between 128 and 182 days during a 30 year observation period ending in 1965. The average frost-free period was 144 days. The area is subject to occasional winds in excess of 75 m.p.h., usually in the period between September and April. Large hailstorms have occurred, along with brief heavy rains from thunderstorms. The maximum precipitation for any 24 hour period during the years 1931 - 1979 was 4.43 inches. -3- - /,
