.

.

Project Budget:

. Total anticipated cost is $466,672 for a 3 year project. Of this total, $170,000 is for the

proposed new well core to be drilled in early 1999. The NSF has been asked for $50,000

of the well costs and we must raise $120,000 locally for the core together with

approximately $42,000 for hydrologic analysis of the core. We are seeking $120,000 from

the Project Planning and Construction Branch of the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

We anticipate raising the remaining $42,000 from local Municipal water providers and

County authorities. Allocations of local funding can be contingent on the receipt of the NSF

funds.

Budget
Drilling and core recovery
Hydrological analyses of the core
Palynological analyses of the core
Magnetostratigraphic analyses of the core
Geochemical analyses of the core
Fission track analyses of the core
Equipment, supplies, and publication costs
Travel and fieldwork expenses
Graduate student tuition and stipend
Principal investigator salaries
Conversion of the core hole to a stock well
Indirect costs (overhead)
Total Project

$170,000
$42,000
$36,000
$27,360
$3,000
$4,000
$13,932
$9,000
$69,120
$58,807
$10,000
$23.453
$466,672

.

Proposed sources of revenue
National Science Foundation
Denver Museum of Natural History
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Elbert County Commissioners
Local Water Providers and others
Total Project

$221,096
$73,576
$120,000
$10,000
$42.000
$466,672

Reporting and Data Transmission:
The core will be stored in the USGS public core library.
