I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I II treated water from the district. At the time of this writing, the town of Dolores has indicated it wishes to maintain its own private water supply system. However, it wants the future option of being included in the Dolores Water Conservancy District water treatment program. The anticipated population to be served in Dolores has been included in the projections, and is approximately 6% of the total for the district. Since the planning horizon for this study is set at 20 years, all the population projections have been carried out to the year 2004. Actual population counts throughout the project period should of course be tabulated and compared with these projections so that, by simple linear extension of the actual population figures, planning can be conducted for the years beyond 2004. Again it should be emphasized that, while it is essential for the purposes of this study to establish estimated expansion stages by date for the treatment plant, in actual practice the expansion stages of the main treatment plant will be triggered by actual population growth. The stages of construction might therefore be moved forward or backward from the estimated dates in this study. Deviations from the original plan will necessitate periodic updating of the financial program. The final projections upon which preliminary designs were based are listed in Table 4-4.
