Earth lining has been included in the cost estimate for about a third of the canal length. All of the siphons and drop struc- tures would. be of precast concrete pipe. Data on the structures are shown below. Suitable earth-lining materials are available along the canal route. Nearly all of the route would be across open ter- rain with gentle cross slope and light covering of brush and scattered juniper trees. Major turnouts would be constructed to Cattlemens ditch, to a draw leading to Gould ReserVOir, and to Castle Canyon. Numerous addi- tional turnouts would be provided to release water for distribution to Upper Iron Creek and Upper Fruitland Mesa lands. A new bridge 'Would be required at the Colorado State Highway 92 crossing. Other minor struc- tures would be provided at drainage crossings. 22
