<br />, <br /> <br />Chapter VI: ESTIMATED COSTS <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />A. COSTS OF CONSTRUCTION. <br /> <br />'I <br /> <br />A cost analysis was conducted for the various alternatives shown on Figures VI- <br />I and VI-2. The quantities determined are based on the elevations of the <br />existing site as shown on the topographic map from the report by Bruns <br />Engineering. The unit costs applied to each Item are based on a weighted <br />average of the costs bid on Clark Lake In July of 1988, Reservoir No. 2 In 1990, <br />Barnes Meadow Reservoir In 1992, and on costs being currently bid on similar <br />construction In Northern Colorado. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Following Is a summary of the various alternatives considered and discussed In <br />Chapter V. The costs associated with each are outlined In the remainder of this <br />chapter. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />A.1. <br /> <br />Reservoir No. 6 Dam <br /> <br />Alternative NO.1 - Cost; $999,026.00 <br /> <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />1. Raise the dam and saddle dam crest to GH - 42'and regrade slopes <br />to 3H to IV. <br />2. Construct 360' emergency spillway at right abutment with concrete <br />grade beam control wall at GH- 36'. <br />3. Breach the dam at the outlet and Ins taU new outlet works Including <br />24" and 42" outlet conduits, Intake structure with Inclined control <br />gates, and outlet structure with energy dlsslpator. <br />4. Install 350 feet of toe drains at dam toe and along outlet channel. <br />5. Place rlprap, bedding, and sand blanket In downstream channel. <br />6. Place 24" of rlprap and 9" of bedding on upstream face for erosion <br />protection. <br /> <br />This alternative Is shown on Figure VI-l and the cost of the various portions of <br />the rehabilitation are as shown. A complete breakdown of the costs and the <br />quantities are also shown on Table VI-I. <br /> <br />Alternative No.2 - Cost; $952,725.00 <br /> <br />1. Same as Alternative No. I except for the spillway. <br />2. Construct 350' RoUer Compacted Concrete (RCC) emergency spillway <br />between the main dam and the saddle dam with a crest elevation at <br />GH - 36'. <br />This alternative Is shown on Figure VI-I and the cost of the various portions of <br />the rehabilitation are as shown.
