There Is no visible Indication
of any stab!llty problems with No. 5 alnce It was rehabilitated In 1980 other
than at the toe near the outlet as described above.

No property surveys were conducted and no problems are anticipated with the
reservoir boundaries due to the limited area that requires construction.

A visible Inspection of the site did not reveal any special drainage problems
such as those noted for No.6.

The potential for siltation of the batlln above Reservoir No. II Is outlined In
Section A.9. above. Reservoir NO.6 would not expected to pick up more than 76
to 100 acre-feet of slit over a 100 year period. This amount Is Insignificant
compared to the reservoir capacity.

C. MISCELLANEOUS ALTERNATIVES

I. Inlet Ditch Control Structure. 'fhe Inlet ditch to fill Reservoir No. 5 and
No. 6 Is controlled by a gated concrete structure that Is In need of repair. The
gate sill Is eroded and needs to be removed and replaced. A portion of the
structure floor slab Is eroded and spaJJlng and needs to be chipped out to sound
concrete and repaired. The structure apparently has no upstream cutoff and
water runs under the structure. A cutoff needs to be Installed and the void
under the slab grouted. The structure also needs an energy dissipation device to
Inhibit the downstream erosion.

2. Measuring Flume. A measuring flume should be Installed below the Inlet
ditch control structure to measure the volume of water diverted out of the
Poudre Valley canal Into the two reservoirs. This Is required to determine the
payment to the Poudre Valley Reservoir Company from North poudre for water
that runs through their ditch. The flume will also help the North Poudre ditch
rider set the gates at the control structure and control the quantity of water
being diverted.

PAGS Ii
Cblpler V - No. 6 Peuiblllty
