Population
projecti ons from 1985 through 2015 are shown on Fi gure IV. 1. In 1985, the
City served a population of 56,964. An additional 9,095 people, external to
the City, were also served.

The anticipated usage in the year 2015 is expected to serve a popUlation of
94,215 people annually, requiring 8,253 million gallons per year; as well as
supply Hewlett-Packard, Eastman Kodak, the City of Evans, and others with
4,365 million gallons per year. Information contained in the February; 1985
report by James M. Montgomery, Consulting Engineers, Inc. entitled, "Boyd Lake
Pl ants Raw Water Supply and Treatment Study", was used to establ i sh future
water demands outside the City. Table IV.l shows the average daily and annual
demands from 1980 to 2015. Data from 1980 to 1985 are historical usage
figures. Figure IV.2 graphically displays the projected annual water usage;

Annual water use was 7,050 million gallons in 1985. At the projected levels
for the year 2015, annual consumpti on is expected to increase 79 percent to
12,618 million gallons. This means the average daily water use will increase
from 19.3 million gallons to 34.6 million gallons.

-18-
