Federal agencies have the option of shading out any line item <br />on any report that is unnecess<1ry for dec is ion-m<1k ing pu"rposes. <br /> <br />f. Federal agenc ies ShOll ld accept the ident ica I informat ion .from <br />the recipients in machine usable format or computer printouts in <br />lieu of prescribed formats. <br /> <br />g. Federa 1 agencies may prov ide computer output s to rec ip ients when it <br />will expedite or contribute to the accuracy of reporting. <br /> <br />6. r~onitoring and Report ing of Pro<jrillll PerformiJllce. - <br /> <br />a. Recipients shall constantly monitor the performance under cooperative <br />agreements to assure that t ilne schedules are being met, projected work <br />units by time periods arc. being accompl ished, and other performance <br />goals are being achieved. This review shall be made for each program, <br />function, or activity of each cooperative agreement as set forth in the <br />award document. <br /> <br />b. Recipients shall submit a performance report which briefly presents <br />the following for each program, funct ion, or act ivity involved as <br />prescribed by the Federal agency: <br /> <br />(1) A comparison of actual a~complishments to the goals established <br />for the period. Where the output of cooperative agreements can be <br />readily quantified, such quantitative data ~hould be related to cost <br />data for computation of unit costs. <br /> <br />(2) Reasons why established goals were not met. <br /> <br />(3) Other pert inent informat ion inc Iud i ng, when appropr i ate, <br />analysis and explanation of cost overruns or high unit costs. <br /> <br />c. Recipients shall submit the rerformance or technical reports <br />to Federal agencies and the Financial St<1tus Reports covering the <br />same period in the frequency established, and where <1ppropriate, a <br />final technical or performance report after completion of the project on <br />a date specified by the Feder~l agency. The r-ederal agenry shall <br />prescribe the frequency with wh ich the performance reports will be <br />submitted with the request for reimbursement ;'ihen that form is used in <br />lieu of the Financial Status Report. Except as provided for in para- <br />graph "d" below, performance reports shall not be required more frequently <br />than quarterly or less frequently than annually. <br />
