(Reports of National Park Service and Bureau <br />of Sport Fisheries are still in preparation.) <br /> <br />Reconnnendations <br /> <br />It is recommended: <br /> <br />1. The general plan of development of the San Miguel project as <br />outlined in this report be approved. <br /> <br />2. The San Miguel project be authorized for construction and op- <br />eration by the Secretary of the Interior as a participating project of <br />the Colorado River Storage project in accordance with the Federal recla- <br />mation laws (act of June 17, 1902 [32 Stat. 388J, and acts amendatory <br />thereof and supplementary thereto, particularly the Colorado River Stor- <br />age Project Act of April 11, 1956 ITO Stat. 105]) substantially in accord- <br />ance with the plans set forth in this report, with such modifications of, <br />omissions from, or additions to the works as the Secretary of the Interior <br />may find proper and necessary to carry out the purposes of the project. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3. The limitations on lands in single ownership which may be eli- <br />gible to receive San Miguel project water be 160 acres of class 1 land <br />or the equivalent of land in other classes as determined by the Secretary <br />of the Interior. <br /> <br />4. Authority be sought for the Secretary of the Interior to acquire <br />by purchase, exchange, or otherwise privately owned lands which, together <br />with public lands, would be divided into family size farm units for set- <br />tlement on the project; to sell, exchange, lease, and otherwise dispose <br />of public or acquired lands and any improvements thereon as farm units or <br />otherwise and to convey title by deed in lieu of patents. <br /> <br />5. Inclusion of developments for recreation and fish and wildlife <br />enhancement in the San Miguel project be contingent on agreements by non- <br />Federal interests to administer project land and water areas for these <br />purposes and to bear a portion of the project costs as provided in Public <br />Law 89-72. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />
