Existinq Facilities. Clark Lake Dam was <br />originally constructed in approximately 1905 for <br />the. purpose of storing irrigation water. It is <br />unclear whether the present spillway was <br />constructed at that time or at a later date. The <br />dam is a relatively homogeneous earthfill dam with <br />a maximum heignt at the present time of <br />approximately fifteen feet (15 I ), and an overall <br />length of approximately 2,200 feet. <br />The existing emeJ:"gency spillway is on the left <br />abutment, has no control section, and is <br />approximately 250 feet in width. The outlet works <br />consist of. a thirty-six inch (36".) diameter <br />corrugated metal pipe with a cast-in-place <br />concrete wet well upstream of the dam crest. <br />containing a control gate. The present outlet <br />works, except for the wet well, was constructed in <br />1958 to replace a similar outlet which was <br />approximately fifteen feet (15') lower in <br />elevation.
