The loss of land due to plants
like Anheuser-BUtlch is not expected to be great
over the next 40 years. The loss to the North
Poudre area to commercial and industrial based on
the 20% value would be 4% or 1200 acres total.
Again, the area served by North poudre is not
expected to see the rapid use change due to its
distance from Fort Collins due to the logistics of
providing services such as water, power, airplane
transportation, @tc. Growth is more likely to
continue moving in a southerly direction in
Larimer County atl has been the case for the past
15 years.

D.

Land Ownership. The ownership of land in the area
served by The North poudre Irrigation Company is
primarily private farm or ranch land. An exact break
down of land ownership is not known, but is expected to
consist of less than three percent (3%) pUblic land
owned by the state and Federal Government, less than
one percent (1%) owned by municipalities, and the
remainder being private land.
III-5
