Present. There are approximately 32,000 acres
served by the North Poudre Irrigation Company
which could groW' crops, of which approximately
30,000 acres are in irrigated agricultural use.
Based on discus~ions with North Poudre and a
review of area maps, we have estimated
approximately 2000 acres may be municipal and
industrial use. The water distributed through
Clark Lake supplies irrigation water to 68 users
to irrigate approximately 8000 acres of crop and
pasture land.
Crops generally cultivated in the area are
corn, pinto bean~, alfalfa, barley and pasture.
The average yield of these crops for 1984, as
taken from the report Colorado Aqriculture
Statistics publisned by the Colorado Department of
Agricul ture, is as follows: 19.5 tons of silage
per acre; 123 bushels per acre for shelled corn;
1970 pounds per acre for dry pinto beans; 3.05
tons per acre fo:J: alfalfa; and 80.5 bushels per
acre for barley.
Future.
