Three alternatives were considered:

1, The no-action alternative,
2, Rehabilitation of the diversion only.
3. Rehabilitation of the diversion and the headgate structure,

Alternative No.1, no-action, was considered unacceptable since it means the PDDC may not
be able to deliver water to its shareholders in the future.

Alternative No.2, rehabilitation of the diversion only, was selected, since it is considered to be
the least costly reliable approach.

Alternative No.3, rehabilitation of the diversion and the headgate structure. was ruled out
because of the additional cost, and because the head gate is in generally good condition,

The selected alternative, Alternative No.2, involves construction of a 225 cubic-yard grouted
rock riprap diversion dam, and rebuilding the 48-foot steel check structure.

The Greeley Office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has prepared
preliminary engineering designs and a cost estimate for the project. The plans and cost estimate
are included in Appendix D, The estimated cost of the completed project is $46,620, The cost
breakdown is summarized in Table 1.

Table 1.
