I. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The proposed water project is cons~dered

necessary to the public health and safety of

the Starkville area. It should be funded and

expedited in every way possible. If additional
funds are available from any source, the budget
"

should be increased to eliminate dependence on

any part of the present antiquated water

distribution system.

The need for a sanitary sewer system and

treatment plant remains as a continuous health

hazard to the area. Both Starkville and Greet-

ville have need for a sanitary sewer system.

Good planning and economy of construction dictate

that both towns should be served by one system,

regardless of past differences of opinion between
the towns. Currently, there is no funding in
sight for such a project.

The economic effect of the Starkville Water

Distribution System and also of the much needed

sanitary sewer facilities would be beneficial to

employment conditions in the Trinidad area.

20 --
