These problems include poor road conditions,
no Signs, the publics' confusion .over land ownership and control, as well as a
fence with no gates in it that makes it very difficult to launch a boat. Several
salvage procedures are now being considered to minimize the loss and/or waste of
fish when the reservoir is drained.

I

I

I

~\lture management of Little Bauer's fishery by the DOW will largely be dependant
on the U. S. Forest Service. Until the pubiic access is improved, the DOW will
he unable to justify any intensive management or stocking programs. In addition,
prior to any stocking of public fish the Division would need assurance from the
Bauer Lakes Water Company that there will be an adequate conservation pool left
that ,<ill support the fishery year-around. Given proper conditions, Little Bauer
Reservoir does have the potential for becoming a good fishery.

I

I

If you need any further information, feel free to contact me.

I

Sin?rre1b
/tltU2. \{(t~~
Mike Reid, DwN
Cortez District

I

I

I

lPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, David H.
