<br />AGENCY NAME: Water Conservation Board <br />AGENCY NUMBER: PDA <br />ROUTING NUMBER 0 I {lOA G{j(130 <br /> <br />$ 55,000 <br /> <br />CONTRACT <br /> <br />THIS CONTRACT, made this /(pr1lday of CCTcNR. 2000, by and between the <br />State of Colorado for the use and benefit of the Department of Natural Resources, Cotorado <br />Water Conservation Soard, hereinaher referred to as the CWCS and/or STATE, and the North <br />Fork River Improvement Association, 2917 L50 Lane, Hotchkiss. Colorado 81419, hereinafter <br />referred to as the CONTRACTOR. <br /> <br />FACTUAL RECITALS <br /> <br />A. Authority exists in the law, and funds have been budgeted. appropriated and otherwise <br />made available and a sufficient unencumbered balance thereof remains available for <br />payment in Fund Number 424 Organization YYYY, Appropriation NOO, GSL NFIA. Program <br />WTRC. Object Code 5781, Reporting Category 0033, Contract Encumbrance Number <br />C150033. <br /> <br />S. Required approval. clearance, and coordination have been accomplished from and with <br />appropriate agencies. <br /> <br />C. Section 37.60.121 (l)(b)(IV), C.R.S., authorizes the STATE to make grants from the CWCS <br />Construction Fund with specific authorization from the General Assembly. <br /> <br />D. The CONTRACTOR is a nonprofit organization founded in 1996 by North Fork Valley <br />landowners with membership comprised of local citizens, governmental agencies and <br />business groups, and is located in Delta County. . <br /> <br />E. The CONTRACTOR applied for a grant from the CWCS for the purpose of evaluating the <br />feasibility of various watershed planning and demonstration projects to improve stream <br />stability. riparian habitat, and ecosystem functions along the North Fork of the Gunnison <br />River as they pertain to the operations of the Paonia Reservoir ("PROJECT"). <br /> <br />F. At its November 1999 meeting. the CWCS approved a grant of up to $55,000 from the <br />cwes Construction Fund to the CONTRACTOR to participate in a cooperative planning <br />investigation of the North Fork of the Gunnison River, with $50,000 allocated to help fund <br />the Paonia Reservoir Research Project and $5.000 allocated for costs of administering the <br />PROJECT. <br /> <br />G. Pursuant to H.B. 00,1419, Section 7. the General Assembty authorized the CWCS to <br />allocate $55.000 to the CONTRACTOR for funding and administrative cost of the Paonia <br />Reservoir Research PROJECT. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE. in consideration of the mutual and dependent covenants contained <br />herein, the parties agree as follows: <br /> <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
