The site area is located at a
latitudenongitudeofand 37'20' /106'00'.

SUMMARY OF MAJOR GOALS
Stabilization of the Alamosa River is the primary goal. This will reduce sedimentation, limit bank erosion, and
decrease damage to irrigation head gates, roads, and bridges. A secondary goal is the development ofBMPs for the
stream and the riparian area. The BMPs will be a factor in long-term sustainability of the overall restoration effort.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This is a continuation of a project which is a cost-sharing plan to stabilize severely eroded portions of the Alamosa
River using, where appropriate; rock structures, channel shaping, and vegetative controls. Also included is the
promotion of the regrowth of woody vegetation through plantings and cooperative efforts of river landowners to
implement grazing BMPs.

Total CWCB Funds Requested:(incremental) $450,000.00
FY Ql $380,000 FY ll2. $50,000.00 FY 03 $20,000.00

In-kind non cash Match: $288,560.00.
