The Town of Lyons intake structure on the north fork of the St. Vrain <br />.Creek is the only source of raw water for the Town of Lyons. The structure is <br />very old and in an extreme state of deterioration. During periods of cold <br />weather and minimal stream flow the existing structure cannot divert the <br />river water into the headworks ot the raw water pipeline to the treatment <br />plant. The extremely poor condition of the structure could lead to total <br />failure of the structure during high water in the spring of the year. <br /> <br />Page 3, Part B <br /> <br />l! <br /> <br />5. The purpose of the project is to avert structure failure and water supply <br />interuption to the Town of Lyons, which is needed because of the extreme age <br />and deteriorated condition of the structure.
