Water from Pueblo is available on a monthly basis as needed by AGUA. <br /> <br /> <br />Appropriate transit losses are applied on all water released from Pueblo's Upper Arkansas River <br /> <br /> <br />sources to Reach 1, which begins at the Fountain Creek confluence, to determine replacement credits. <br /> <br /> <br />Transit losses from high mountain storage to Pueblo reduces available replacement credits to AGUA <br /> <br /> <br />by 9.57 percent for replacements below Pueblo Reservoir, and by 6 percent for replacements between <br /> <br /> <br />Salida and Pueblo Reservoir. <br /> <br />By agreement with the owner, AGUA also has the right to utilize up to 50 acre-feet of transmountain <br />water leased from the Board of Water Works of Pueblo by Owl Canyon LLC for the Chico Creek Dairy <br />wells. Because there will be less than 0.01 acre-feet of lagged replacement requirement for the dairy <br />during the 1997 plan year, AGUA will have the entire 50 acre-feet available for its replacement. <br /> <br />Water purchased from the Board of Water Works of Pueblo is used to offset the projected 122 acre- <br />foot depletion to the Arkansas River above Pueblo Reservoir, and a portion of the projected 6,853 <br />acre-foot depletion to the Arkansas River between Pueblo Reservoir and John Martin Reservoir. <br /> <br />C. Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancv District Sources <br /> <br />AGUA has purchased Fryingpan-Arkansas (Fry-Ark) Project return flow water from the Southeastern <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservancy District (SECWCD) for plan year 1997. AGUA has requested 1,000 <br /> <br /> <br />acre-feet of Fry-Ark return flows on the main stem of the Arkansas River, and 375 acre-feet (reduced <br /> <br /> <br />from 600 acre-feet as shown in the RMC, March 1997 report) of Fry-Ark return flow water on Fountain <br /> <br /> <br />Creek. The 1,000 acre-feet of return flows is being used to replace a portion of the 6,853 acre-foot <br /> <br /> <br />depletion on the Arkansas River below Pueblo Reservoir. The 375 acre-feet of Fry-Ark return flow <br /> <br /> <br />credits accrue to Fountain Creek year-round and are used to replace a portion of the 629 acre-foot <br /> <br /> <br />depletion on Fountain Creek. On November 15, 1997, unused return flows sufficient to replace <br /> <br /> <br />depletions accruing during the 1997/1998 winter storage season, will be booked over to the <br /> <br /> <br />undistributed winter storage account. <br /> <br />-10- <br />
