,

SECTION VI
ESTIMATED PROJECT COSTS

CAPITAL COSTS
The estimates are based on 1974 cost levels, without a large allowance for
future dollar devaluation or inflation. The total represents project cost
estimates which include probable contract construction bids and an additional
25 percent allowance. This allowance can be broken down approximately as
follows:

Design Engineering
Surveys and Staking
Construction Inspection
Administrative - Overhead
Fiscal and Legal
Contingencies & Misc.

8.0%
I. 5%
2.0%
1.5%
2.0%
10.0%
25.0%

No costs are included for individual taps and service lines as it is assumed
that these will be privately installed and owned.

The preliminary cost estimates for the proposed initial project are given in
Table VI-A following. The estimate is based on project construction in early
1975. For this reason, no specific inflationary figure is given or projected
price increases. Subsequent planning estimates, if project funding is delayed
substantially, should be trended to reflect current cost levels.

The capital requirements do not include land acquisition costs within the Dis-
trict boundaries. Land and easements required will be obtained as outlined in
Section V. Individual service ines are to be paid for by each water customer.
The District mains are therefore, located to provide equitable service line lengths.
