.,,""')

.,

II. SCOPE OF WORK

A. General

The general scope of work for this landslide stabilization and

canal renovation is presented within the following pages. The scope.

of work and the schedule is dictated to a degree by the emergency

nature of the project and the need to establish a program of renova-

tion as soon as possible to allow fall or early winter construction.

The scope of work is divided into two phases. The flrst phase

being di rected towards a very rapid assessment of the problem, the

causative mechanism definition (without extensive field work), reme-

diate measures and preliminary cost estimates for renovat ion. The

second phase work will be the more detailed feasibility evaluation

complete with field measurements, drilling and geophysical investiga-

tions, engineering a~alysis and economic evaluation (ability to pay).

B. Phase I

Objective - The objective of Phase I is to provide the Stewart

Ditch and Irrigation Co. and the Colorado Water Conservation Board

with a rapid assessment of the landslide alternatives for renovatlon

and stabilization and associated costs.

II-I
