<br />'j <br /> <br />I"~ ;: <br /> <br />-.' <br /> <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board in coordil1Btion with the <br /> <br />Division of Emergency Services to provide loan assistance and- fac1- <br /> <br />litate the restorat Ion of the ditch through a process of engineering <br /> <br />analysis and feasibility evaluaton (techical and economic). <br /> <br />The Stewart Ditch and Irrigation Company has secured a short <br /> <br />term, relatively high interest rate' commercial loan of $79,000 to pro- <br /> <br />vide funds for immediate emergency repair. <br /> <br />In addition, the <br /> <br />Agricultura 1 Stabil izat ion and Conservation Service (ASCS) has com- <br /> <br />mitted cost sharing assistance that may provide as much as $128,000. <br /> <br />The timing and exact details of disbursement of these funds are not <br /> <br />clearly defined at this time. <br /> <br />Funds from the State of Colorado, as a low interest loan, may be <br /> <br />as much as $200,000. <br /> <br />The exact amount and terms of potential loans <br /> <br />plus the definition of the ability to pay wll be established as part <br /> <br />of the feasibility investigation. <br /> <br />The Stewart Ditch and Irrigation Company has evaluated (1n a <br /> <br />preliminary fashion) various alternatives for renovating the canal or <br /> <br />bypassin~ this particular reach. Some of the alternatives considered <br /> <br />were: <br /> <br />I. Tunnelling beneath the slide area. <br /> <br />2. Routing the ditch on the northwest side of the river and <br />then carrying the ditch flow back across the North Fork <br />in either a siphon or flume (Trestle). <br /> <br />1-2 <br />
