"

HYANNIS PEAK RESERVOIR

Conclusions

Conclusions developed during the Hyannis Peak Reservoir
Preliminary Feasibility Study are based on data that, due
to lack of direct observations, do not in all cases meet
state guidelines. This is particularly evident in the stream
flow claculations and the p'eolop,ic investigations. However,
without waitinp, 20 to 30 years to gather the recommended
stream flow information it is necessary to develop a "best
estimate" flow rate. In addition, geologic investigations,
which greatly effect construction design and cost, are not
complete without subsurface studies. Therefore, in order
to perform the needed benefit to cost ratios required to
obtain funding, design and cost estimates are presented in
this study, Using these estimates, benefit to cost ratios
greater than one in irrigation, herd increase, and calf sales
are determined, It is therefore the conclusion of this study
that the Hyannis Peak Project aopears to be a beneficial and
cost effective project.

Recommendations

Based on the conclusions of this study it is recommended
that funding for geologic investigations be allocated. The
results of these investigations will be used to more accurately
define design criteria and construction costs and therefore
future benefits.

/

/
.

,-
;

:1

"i
"
I

~;: :1

RMO-
