Outlet Works <br /> <br />The outlet works consist of a low-level intake; a <br />principal drop-inlet spillway; an upstream slide gate; a <br />reinforced concrete outlet pipe, and an outlet stilling <br />structure. <br /> <br />1. Reinforced Concrete Inlet Structure <br /> <br />A reinforced concrete inlet structure will house a <br />steel slide gate and a trashrack. The slide gate <br />will be operated by a handwheel located at the crest <br />of the dam. The operating rod will be buried beneath <br />and parallel to the upstream slope. <br /> <br />/.. Principal Spillway <br /> <br />A 30-inch diameter, 12 gauge, close riveted,' asbestos- <br />bonded and asphalt-coated corrugated metal riser pipe <br />will act as the principal drop-inlet spillway, with <br />its crest at elevation 60.0. A standard Kansas trash- <br />rack and baffle plate will prevent entrance of float- <br />ing debris, <br /> <br />,! <br /> <br />.. <br />...:: <br /> <br />3. Outlet Pipe <br /> <br />A 3~-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe will pro- <br />vide 100 cfs outflow from the reservoir. The outlet <br />pipe will be supported on a concrete cradle and will <br />incorporate concrete cutoff collars every 20 feet to <br />prevent piping along the conduit. <br /> <br />4. Stilling Structure <br /> <br />A reinforced concrete stilling structure will be pro- <br />vided at the outlet. Baffles will still the water <br />before the.water enters the outlet channel. <br /> <br />E. Spillway <br /> <br />An emergency overflow spillway capable of discharging <br />a moderate hazard flood will be constructed in the natural <br />saddle to the right of the right abutment. Water will <br />flow along the natural channel to an existing pond, and <br />then return to Arapahoe Creek. <br /> <br />-24- <br />
