~

I

E. Water Quality

Water quality data presented here was obtained
from government records gathered at the Grizzly
Creek Station near Spicer. Table V on the next page
is the water quality analysis of the most recent
year available (1978-79). No adverse effects from
dissolved solids are anticipated due to the low
mineral content of the water.

'...J

,;
".i

Sediment load expected to be delivered to the
Hyannis Reservoir was estimated using the Grizzly
Creek Station data presented in Table VI. The aver-
age low floy] (<25 .cfs) and high flow sediment loads,
and the assumption that high flows occur 4 months
per year, were used to compute an average annual
sediment load of 6956.01 tons/year for Grizzly
Creek.

The Hyannis Reservoir site is located within
the Grizzly Creek drainage. To relate the sediment
load from the Grizzly Creek station to the Hyannis
site, the ratio of drainage areas was used:

Hyannis Site Drainage Area
Grizzly Creek Drainage Area

4.9 M2
= 0.04

119

"
M"-

::~ ..;

The annual sediment load at the Hyannis Reservoir
site is thus estimated to be:

6956.01 tons/year x 0.04 = 278.24 tons/year

"'J,

.,.1

,:,,")

-20-
