While the annual average is 210 cfs, the months of May -
September (boating season) average discharge is 394 cfs with a range from
91 cfs to 687 cfs.

The 1982-1985 period for the South Platte River is presented in detail
(daily) in Tables 11-10 through II-13. These years are presented
independently because it was during this period that South Platte Corridor
use expectations and design criteria for trails and boating changed towards
a higher standard of use. For instance, trail design criteria changed from
a trail inundation criteria of 1000 cfs to 2600 cfs in 1984.

Table II-14 presents summarized data for the May - September period for
1982-1985.

TABLE II-14
1982 - 1985 DISCHARGE AT LITTLETON
(May - September)
(cfs)
Month 1982 1983 1984 1985 Average
May 104 1855 1823 1424 1302
June 147 1967 947 824 971
July 236 1445 480 474 659
August 435 693 1358 358 711
September 285 114 640 81 280
Average 241 1215 1050 632 785
The combined May - September boating period from 1972 to 1985 (14 years)
has a mean daily flow of 506 cfs.
