CO 81526

Re: Amendment to
Contract No. C-153275
Palisade Irrigation District

Dear John:

Please find enclosed an amendment to the June 20. 1986.
contract between the Board and your district. I am proposing
this contract amendment at the suggestion of the Bureau of
Reclamation. It will extend the term of the contract so that I
can continue to reimburse the district for Bill Waldeck's work
on the proposed legislation amending the irrigation districts
acts while the General Assembly is in session in 1987. Your
other costs will be covered by the cooperative agreement which
you have just recently executed directly with the Bureau of
Reclamation.

The enclosed contract amendment does two things: (1) it
extends the termination date for the contract from December 31.
1986. to June 30. 1987. and (2) it reduces the maximum
expenditures which can be made from $35.000.00 to $25.000.00.
it being obvious that the latter sum will now be more than
sufficient.

I trust that you find the proposed contract amendment
suitable. I think that it is the best way to proceed in order
that we can insure the passage of the necessary legislation.

2448E
