THE WEST DIVIDE WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT <br /> <br />HISTORY OF ORGANIZATION <br /> <br />The West Divide Water Conservancy District was created by decree of <br />the District Court of Garfield County, Colorado, on April 10, 1964. <br /> <br />The District encompasses portions of Garfield, Mesa and Pitkin Counties. <br />The approximate boundaries are lands located on the west side of the <br />Crystal River and the south side of the Colorado River extending from <br />the Carbondale area to DeBeque, Colorado, <br /> <br />The 1964 valuation for the District was $11,9B3,170 and a mill levy of <br />one-half mill was approved for the 1965 budget. <br /> <br />The initial officers and directors appointed by the Court and the legal <br />counsel of the Oistrict were: <br /> <br />Will i am Jackson <br /> <br />Harold C.
