Our Treasurer also reports that some assessments due in <br />1999 were paid in 2000. Our current balance has increased since the 1999 closing balance. <br /> <br />4. Please provide a brief narrative description of potential sources of funding (in addition to the <br />CWCB) which have been explored or which will be explored for the proposed project <br />(Examples would be Banks, Rural Development, Colorado Water Resources and Power <br />Development Authority, Colorado Division of Local Government, etc.) <br />We have a 70"10 cost share contract with the USDAlNRCS for Dart of the proiect (onlv the part <br />that results in taking existing concrete ditches out of service); the NRCS will provide all design & <br />engineering services at no cost. Also. in late November 2000. the Colorado River Water Conservation <br />District will be acceoting ap'plications for grants for proiects like this. If we are aoproved for a grant. it <br />would be limited to 50% of the first $10.000 oroiect cost. and 20"10 of the remaining proiect cost. up <br />to a maximum of$15.000 total grant. After all proiect construction is complete. we will receive cost- <br />share funding from the NRCS. and hope to receive a grant from the CRWCD in April 2001. These <br />funds will be used to pav down the construction portion of the loan from CWCB. We also contacted <br />two local banks about a loan for the proiect: 1) Brenda Bryant. Branch Manager of Alpine Bank in <br />Grand Junction said. ''No. this is not something they normally do at Alpine Bank. Thev are not <br />competitive on this type onoan." 1) Eric Dougherty at Home Loan (where we have an account) said. <br />''No. construction loans are not their bag. they do consumer loans only. Ifwe had $60.000 in a CD for <br />collateral. they might consider loaning: us $60.000." <br /> <br />r <br />
