Copies of the ordinances which set forth the tap fees for those years have been
included as Appendix B. In addition to the tap fees, the City of Lousiv11e
has initiated a Bond Retirement and Payment of Interest Fee. In 1971, this fee

was set at $4.50 per month per water user or tap owner. This was not increased
until 1982 when it was raised to $6.65 per month for a 48% increase.. Water and
sewer rates were also increased in 1982 by Ordinance 760. (See Appendix B).
These rates were set forth as follows:
Water: $8.00 for first $10,000 gallons and
$.65 for each additional 1000 gallons

The City of Louisville instituted in 1970 a water metering program for all new
water taps. In 1978, the City converted all users to meters.
