CO 81502-2188 <br /> <br />Dear BU1: <br /> <br />I am writing to request and authorize you to undertake <br />additional work beyond that provided for in the scope of services <br />called for in the contract concerning your legal work on the <br />organization of the laterals under the Grand Valley Salinity <br />Control Unit. In "Illlrticular. 1 would like you to: <br /> <br />1) Study the possibility of amending the lateral ditCh <br />corporation law to allow applicability thereof to <br />more .than one separate lateral. and <br /> <br />2) Study the means (inclusive of statutory amendments) <br />by whiCh assurances could be given that a proposed <br />organization having the power to t'aX would not <br />exercise suCh power for purposes of operation and <br />maintenance of the laterals unless it were unable to <br />disCharge its obligations from reimbursement made to <br />it under provisions of the Colorado River Basin <br />Salinity Control Act and from toll Charges. <br /> <br />Since the work I am requesting you to perform is beyond the <br />scope of the original contract. itenall be performed pursuant to <br />that provision of the contract whiCh provides for Change orders <br />and whiCh provides that suCh work shall be billed at an hourly <br />rate. subject to the aggregate amounts set forth. When you submit <br />your invoice for the period ending May 31. 1985. for the first pay- <br />ment against the fixed sum portion of the contract work. would you <br />also itemize the hOUrly work which has been performed through that <br />date for the above two items. and it will also be paid at that time. <br />
