I
1
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Juniata Reservoir for municipal use, but all such diversions from Kannah Creek

are subject to a 15 percent "shrink" or reduction in the diverted amount from

the decreed amount. Such a restriction does not apply to waters diverted from

the North Fork.

The City has combined diversion rights of North Fork water in excess of 50 cfs
for the City Pipeline, Laurent Ditch and Bauer Ditch, but because that quantity
of flow is virtually non-existent, the stipulation has been made that no more
than 28.37 cfs be diverted at anyone time. When available, this amount can be
diverted to Juniata Reservoir via the diversion facilities proposed herein, or
to Reeder Reservoir via the Laurent and Bauer Ditches.

3.2 STORAGE RIGHTS

As a result of past ligitation, the City cannot store North Fork water in Purdy
Mesa Reservoir. Therefore, the City Pipeline flow into Purdy Reservoir must
not exceed the flow being released into the Purdy Mesa flow line. Without
spring runoff storage capabilities, the North Fork water rights cannot be fully
utilized, thereby necessitating diversion modifications to enable delivery of
North Fork water to Juniata Reservoir.

The potential also exists for enlarging Reeder Reservoir to provide additional
storage capacity for North Fork water. The facilities needed to implement this
raw water diversion already exist in the Laurent and Bauer Ditches. In
addition to upgrading and enlarging the reservoir, a flow line interconnection
would also have to be constructed to permit the conveyance of Reeder Reservoir
water to the City water treatment plant.
