I have assumed that of the total
54.99 acres irrigated in 1998, that 25 percent was for bluegrass or fescue lawns; five
percent was gardens, flower beds, or shrubs; and 70 percent was irrigated pasture.

The 86.68 acre-feet of consumptive use is higher than we estimated in 1996, and is
due to the increase in acreage where new homes are built on vacant lots and my further
split of consumptive use between lawns and irrigated pasture.

I believe the metered water use is a better estimate if we are sure you do not have
significant line leakage. It is very important to keep good monthly records from the
totalizing flow meter.

Let me know if you have questions, and if the report is satisfactory, please submit
a copy to John Van Schiver at the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

Sincerely,

cP~tf:~r-4

Robert A.
