<br />Additional Cost = $287.000. <br /> <br />30" Steel Outlet Works Installation: <br />Due to discrepancy between the original contract documents and the bid addendum, <br />additional work was required to complete the installation of the concrete mud matte located <br />beneath the full length of the 30" outlet pipe concrete encasement. <br /> <br />Additional Cost = $8.000. <br /> <br />Ul'stream Dam Face RiP Rap: <br />The pay item for Rip Rap was based on a per ton price, given an estimated specific gravity <br />of the rock to be imported. The actual rip rap imported to the site was heavier then <br />estimated, therefore increasing the overall tonnage quantity for the project. <br /> <br />Additional Cost = $300,000. <br /> <br />RE. Monks Construction Company - Additional Cost due to Desil!n Chanl!es: <br /> <br />Additional Reservoir Storage: <br />Diliiiigexcavallonof11iereseYVoirateaitwas determined that an addttioual700 acrecfeet of <br />storage could be obtained by modifying the grading plan. Placement of the excess material <br />was negotiated by Consolidated Mutual to occur on adjacent property, making the design <br />change economical or approximately $2,000 per acre-foot. <br /> <br />Additional Cost = $1.300,780 <br /> <br />Asbestos Pipe Removal: <br />Prior to construction an abandoned asbestos water line was discovered on the reservoir site, <br />which was removed in accordance with OSHA guidelines. <br /> <br />Additional Cost = $39.910 <br /> <br />The cost overruns to-date associated with R.E. Monks work is $1,980,690 for an revised <br />total contract amount of$16,670,810. <br /> <br />Consolidated Mutual- Additional Costs due to Unforeseen Site Conditions. <br /> <br />24"-30" Watermain Installation: <br />During construction of the 24"-30" watermain from Fortune Reservoir to Fairmount <br />Reservoir, approximately 5-miles in length, a number of difficulties were encountered that <br />increased the overall cost of the installation. These problems areas included II complicated <br />ditch crossings, substantial unanticipated asphalt replacement in Indiana and McIntyre as <br />required by the State and County jurisdictions, time consuming and labor intensive traffic <br />control measures imposed by the State and County, and limited working hours from 8:30 <br />a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Additional Cost = $1,500,000. <br />
