Irrigated crops include various kinds of fruit, oats, hay, and com with the
remainder being irrigated pasture. The largest acreage for crops is hay and the greatest income
is from fruit production. A breakdown of crops irrigated, the average yield, and economic impact
are shown in Table 1. The service area boundaries are shown in Figure la.

The service area irrigated by Leroux Creek is also servict;d by the Fire Mountain Canal Company
and the Overland Ditch and Reservoir Company. The Fire Mountain Canal Company is small and
delivers a much smaller amount of water than the Leroux Creek Water Users. The Overland
Ditch and Reservoir Company supplies most of the water to the Redlands Mesa area and the
Leroux Creek Water Users supply all the water for the fruit orchards. It is estimated
approximately one half of the irrigation water supplied to the service area is supplied by Leroux
Creek.

The total economic impact of the water supplied by the Leroux Creek Water Users is outlined in
Table 1. The table was developed with all the orchards being supplied 100% by Leroux Creek
and the remaining area being supplied by all the irrigation companies such that the total supplied
by Leroux Creek is one half of the total service area which is 5000 acres.

As can be seen in Table 1 the toW income on the irrigated land is approximately $3,572,787. In
this area of if the land is not irrigated the onIy use of the land is for pasture as none of the crops
can be produced without irrigation. The income from dry land farming, assuming conversion of
the crop production to pasture, would be approximately $415,623. The value of the water to the
local economy would be in the neighborhood of $3,157,000 due to the increased production.

Carl Smith Dam Feasibility

Page 3
