Existing Water Right Information

Staff has analyzed the water rights tabulation and consulted with the Division Engineer's Office
to identify any potential water availability problems. There are no surface diversions within this
reach of stream (see Water Rights in Appendix D). Based on this analysis staff has determined
that water is available for appropriation on East Fork Parachute Creek, from the confluence of
First Anvil Creek and extending downstream to Bull Gulch, to preserve the natural environment
to a reasonable degree without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.

CWCS Staff's Instream Flow Recommendation

Staff recommends the Board form its intent to appropriate on the following instream flow reach:

Stream: East Fork Parachute Creek
Water Division: 5
Watershed: Parachute Creek
Counties: Garfield
Upper Terminus: First Anvil Creek (Latitude 390 33' 20") (Longitude 1070 58' 45")
Lower Terminus: Bull Gulch (Latitude 390 33' 48") (Longitude 1080 00' 51")
Length: 2.1 Miles
USGS Quad(s): Anvil Points and Forked Gulch
Flow Recommendation: 5.0 cfs (April 15 - June 30)
2.0 cfs (July 1 - August 31)
0.8 cfs (September 1 - March 14)
1.3 cfs (March 15 - April 14)

EFK]arachute_first_buIUSF _RPT
Last printed 01/14/00 9:54 AM
