.

.

.'

Existing Water Right Information

Staff has analyzed the water rights tabulation and consulted with the Division Engineer Office to
identify any potential water availability problems. There are 10 decreed absolute surface
diversions within this reach of stream which total 12.6 cfs. These senior water rights have the
potential to dry up portions of Roc Creek during the irrigation season but return flows should
provide adequate stream flow to maintain the natural environment during these times. Based
on this analysis staff has determined that water is available for appropriation on Roc Creek,
between the unnamed tributary and the Dolores River, to preserve the natural environment to a
reasonable degree without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.

ewes Staff's Instream Flow Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board form its intent to appropriate on the following stream reach:

Seament: Unnamed tributary to Dolores River

Upper Terminus: Unnamed tributary at
(Latitude 38028' 06") (Longitude 109000' 27")
Lower Terminus: Dolores River at
(Latitude 380 27' 09") (Longitude 1080 51' 39")
Counties: Montrose
Length: 10.0 Miles
USGS Quad(s): Buckey Reservoir, Roc Creck
Flow Recommendation: 6.60 cfs (March 15th - June 14th)
1.50 cfs (June 15th - March 14th)

- 6 -
