Precipitation Data
Staff reviewed local precipitation data sets from two sites located around the Escalante Creek
Drainage (see Precipitation Data in Appendix C). Table 3 shows the water year and the percent
of average precipitation recorded at each site. It is staffs opinion that the 14 years of stream-
flow data analyzed is representative of average water-years.

Table 3: Precipitation Data as a percentage of Average

Elevation = 5120 Elevation = 5830
Lat 38 45 00 Lat 38 29 00
Long 108 04 00 Long 107 53 00
Year DELTA MONTROSE NO 2
1976 Not Available 75%
1977 88% 78%
1978 Not Available 98%
1979 Not Available 89%
1980 111% 96%
1981 90% 95%
1982 103% 86%
1983 89% 141%
1984 Not Available 134%
1985 Not Available 126%
1986 Not Available 157%
1987 Not Available 103%
1988 Not Available 92%
1989 Not Available 58%
Average 96% 102%

Table 3 shows that the 14 years of stream flow data analyzed is representative of average water
years_
