Walker Director MEMORANDUM FROM: Joe Maurier, DPOR Dennis Schiewe, DPOR Ed Blank, DWR Linda Preslan, AG Sue Uppendahl, CWCB :5 '1:;.1J1 May 17, 1991 TO: DATE: SUBJECT: Steamboat Lease Agreement As discussed in our telephone conference of May 10, 1991, attached is a copy of the original Steamboat Lake Agreement with our changes for the Grant and Terms attached on a separate page. Please review this format and contact me or Gene Jencsok with your comments by May 29, 1991. In addition, we request that the change highlighted on the attached Special Use Permit be incorporated, We plan to present this issue at the next Recovery Program Water Acquisition Committee (WAC) meeting on June 4, 1991. If it is accepted by the WAC, the lease agreement will be presented at the July 18-19 Management Committee meeting for the Recovery Program. Should the Management Committee approve of the lease agreement, our staff will make a presentation before the Colorado Water Conservation Board at its July 23- 24, 1991 meeting for approval of pursuing this lease. If the Board accepts the terms of this agreement, we would plan to have the lease go into effect during the summer of 1991. This will hopefully assist the Recovery Program in getting flows to identified critical habitat for the endangered fish in the Yampa River.
