The surveys made in connection with this report were <br /> <br />supplemented in the report studies by the followi.ng survey data compiled <br /> <br />bv other agencies: <br /> <br />U. S. Geological Survey quadrangle sheets; <br /> <br />City of Denver - scale 1/2,500. <br /> <br />Denver and vicinity - 7-1/2 minute series - scale 1/32,680. <br /> <br />Areas in and adjacent to the m<:i'~ntains - 15 mim;te series - <br /> <br />scale 1/62,500. <br />Greeley - 30 minute series - scale 1/125,000. <br /> <br />u. S. Geological survey maps of Colorado, Wyoming, and l~eb:raska - <br /> <br />scale 1/500,000. <br />Colorado'Planning Survey and Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> <br />quadrangle sheets of State - 15 minute series - scale 1" ~ 1 mile. <br /> <br />Aerial survey of the agricultural areas throughovt the basir by t'18 <br /> <br />Agricultural Adjustment Administration - scale 1/20,000. Vosaics <br /> <br />and stereocomparograph reaps were prepared from contact prints of <br /> <br />the survey. <br /> <br />29. A coordinate system was laid out between Chatfield, Colorado <br /> <br />and North Platte, Nebraska to embrace all of the surveys made by the LS. <br /> <br />Engineer Department in connection with the survey report. The coordinate <br /> <br />system was tied to U. S. Geological Survey and U. S. Coast a~d Geodetic <br /> <br />Survey monuments by means of solar observations. <br /> <br />30. South Platte River. Topographical surveys of the flood plain <br />areas along the main stem between Chatfield and Denver and between Denver <br /> <br />and St. Vrain Creek were made to a scale of 1" ~ 200', contour interval <br /> <br />two feet. A strip map of the flood plain along the South Platte River <br /> <br />from Waterton, Colorado to North Platte, Nebraska was compiled usi~g aerial <br /> <br />survey contact prints, plane table sheets, and quadrangle sheets. A scale <br /> <br />of three inches equals one mile was used. Crop sampling strips were survevQd <br /> <br />at intervals of about one mile between Chatfi.eld and Denver, three miles <br /> <br /> <br />~i~"'~..f~~~';"~_ <br />
