Sox 178 <br />Alamosa, Colorado 81101 <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Dear Commissioner Amaya: <br /> <br />In response to Alamosa County's request for state Emergency <br />Fin2~2:al Assistance to support the iload emergency work of the <br />Rio G~2nde Water Conservation District, the Governor on June 4, <br />198~! issued an executive order declaring Alamosa County a State <br />Disaster area and authorizing State Financial Aid. <br /> <br />The Governor has directed my Division to provide this assistance. <br />The amount of financial aid authorized is both limited ($25,000) <br />and orovided under certain specific conditions as covered in the <br />attac~ec State-Local Agreement. If Alamosa County on behalf of <br />the Rio Grande Water Conservation District and itself are <br />interested in pursuing this assistance, the original copy of the <br />state-Local Agreement should be signed by yourself, dated and <br />authe~ticated by the county clerk, and then returned to me for our <br />files. Since the Agreement is ~traight forward and there is only <br />one transaction involved, I assume either the County Administrator <br />or the County Finance officer will serve as your agent for this <br />activity. Mr, Len Boulas, assisted by Mr. Jack Truby (DODES <br />planner), will act as the State's point of contact for this <br />assistance. Because the emergency work performed by the <br />Conservation District was infact of a mitigative nature, the <br />normal mitigation report requirements associated with state <br />Disaster Emergency Financial Assistance has been waived.
