<br />Floodplain <br />Reso1.No. 190 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />June 3, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREASf a report entitled "Flood Insurance StudYf Town of <br />Collbran, Mesa County, Colorado," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for Plateau Creek and Grove Creek, dated <br />October 15, 1981, has been prepared byMSM Consultants, Inc.; <br />under contract with the Federal' Emergency Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels, <br />or basins of the study area; and' <br /> <br />WHEREASf the Town of Collbran has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve. the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report;, and' <br /> <br />WH'ER~AS, Se<.:Liull 37-60-106( 1) i Culorado~Revi,,,ed Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation' Board' to assist iei <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973f directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of' local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has rev iewed said report and <br />does hereby .recommend to the' Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-yearflood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />d128 <br />res (190) <br />
