<br />the channel had been reduced to the point where it could be handled by the
<br />remaining crossings. Then, using these reduced channel flows,floodeleva_
<br />tions were determined from the rating curves at each crossing st ructure.
<br />Between crOS5ings the elevations were interpolated based on Channel rating
<br />data. This procedure yields flood profiles that reflect existing condi _
<br />tions within an accuracy of about 0.5 feet. Thlslevelofaccurac,yis
<br />
<br />within the tolerances allowable for damage calculations.
<br />The area inundated by the flows leaving the channel were deter~ined
<br />in the field utilizing street flow capacities, field surveys and existing
<br />topographic maps. (Reference 5).
<br />The resulting floodplains and flood pnJfllesare presented on Sheets 1
<br />
<br />through 10.
