Great Western Core Area. The industrial plant site is called the Great Western Core Area
and includes sub-basins CWADIV 1 and CWADIV 2, CWAA, CWAB, CWAC, CSWAA,
and CSW AB. These sub-basins are described below.

Great Western Off-Site Area. The Great Western off-site area includes sub-basins GW 1,
GWR, and WAL 1. Descriptions of these sub-basins follow.

CWADIV 1 and CWADIV 2 - These sub~basins consist of the western-most portion of the
Core Area. They outlet to a channel lying on the west side of the northwest access road
that is tributary to the Walnut Creek Diversion Canal.

GW 1 - This sub-basin includes all of the Walnut Creek drainage basin that is tributary to
Great Western Reservoir and lies east of Indiana Street. All flows from the on-site Walnut
Creek basin are routed through this sub-basin.

GWR - This sub-basin consists of the surface area of Great Western Reservoir.

CW AA - This basin lies in the extreme northern portion of the Core Area. There are
typically no flows coming into the basin. This basin outlets to sub-basin W A 12.

Sub-basin WAL 1 includes that part of the Great Western Reservoir drainage basin that lies
west of the South Boulder Diversion Canal. It extends from the foothills at the mouth of
Coal Creek Canyon to the South Boulder Diversion Canal and was modelled as fully
discharging to W ADIV 3. A portion of WALl discharges directly to the canal as
inadvertent runoff.

CWAB - This basin lies in the northeastern portion of the Core Area. This basin outlets
to sub-basin WA 11, immediately west of Pond A-I.

CWAC - This basin lies in the northern part of the Core Area. It discharges to basin WA
12 through a long outfall sewer that passes underneath the parking area north of the plant
Protected Area (P A).

Standley Lake Drainal:e Basin

CSW AA - This basin includes the southern portion of the Core Area. The basin outlets
into sub-basin SW A 2 in the Buffer Zone and is eventually tributary to Pond B-S.

The Standley Lake drainage basin includes two land use areas, a Buffer Zone and an off-site
area.

CSWAB - This basin includes the central and east-central portions of the Core Area. It
outlets to sub-basin SW A 3, which includes the B-Series ponds.

Standley Lake Buffer Zone. The Standley Lake Buffer Zone includes sub-basins W 1 to
W 9, DIV 1 to DIV 3, and SW 1 to SW 3. Descriptions of these sub-basins follow.

The Core Area basins are further sub-divided for the Core Area analysis presented in
Section VII of this report. For purposes of the major drainage planning represented by
Sections III, IV and VI, the diversions of initial drainage (2S-year frequency) from one sub-
basin to another are ignored. This provides conservatism for flood management planning
in case of initial system failure during large floods. It also allows freedom in the planning
and design of initial (local) drainage works without concern about affecting the overall
Master Plan flood management facilities that are subject to regulatory control.

W 1 to W 9 - These sub-basins include the Woman Creek drainage basin between the South
Boulder Diversion Canal and Indiana Street. The basins lie south of the West Entrance
Road, the South Interceptor Ditch and the East Entrance Road. Sub-basins W 8 and W 9
form a separate tributary of Woman Creek that feeds directly into Standley Lake.

DIV 1 to DIV 3 - These basins are those tributary to the South Interceptor Ditch and Pond
C-2. Sub-basins DIV 2 and DIV 3 lie between the South Interceptor Ditch and the Core
Area. Sub-basin DIV 1 includes Pond C-2. The basins outlet into sub-basin W 1.

SW 1 to SW 3 - These basins include the southern Woman Creek drainage area, including
Rocky Flats Lake and the Smart Ditch. The basins extend from upstream at the South
Boulder Diversion Canal to the confluence with the main stem of Woman Creek,
approximately 1,000 feet east of Indiana Street. The basins outlet into basin W 1.
