No.la9 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />April 1, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />.,.. .,.. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A floodplain information report entitled "F'lood- <br />plain Information Report, Arkansas River in Fremont, County, Canon <br />Ci ty and Florence, Colorado," dated December, 1981, has, been <br />prepared by Camp Dresser & MCKee, Inc., at the request of the <br />Town of Florence, the City of Canon City, Fremont County, and the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlineS, the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the' Board of County Commissioners of Fremont County <br />and the City of, Canon City have requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to de!;ignate and approve the flOOdplain areas <br />"5 "",I; rUt th in the afore-s'a-i;a-t'e-p-ort; ana <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such d'esignations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservacion Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
